Special Meeting of the MRA held on 23 March 2010 A special meeting of the MRA was held at Honey Island Elementary School on 23 March 2010 to discuss the proposed apartments that Miramon Construction wants to build between Turtle Creek and the Honey Island Elementary School. The meeting was well attended and a presentation was made by representatives of Miramon Construction describing the apartments they wish to build. There was much discussion of the proposed apartments, mostly in opposition to the building of the apartments. After the discussion the 4 resolutions below were passed with overwhelming support by the MRA delegates: Resolution 1. The MRA opposes the rezoning of property from A6 to A7 or to A8 for the new Miramon development on Military Road. Resolution 2. The MRA wants any construction in the Miramon property to be compatible with existing structures in the area. Resolution 3. The MRA asks that a traffic study and a drainage study be performed based on the development of the entire 15.5 acres along Military Rd tract. Resolution 4. The MRA asks for alternate uses for the property, such as a senior citizen development, be developed and presented to the public as soon as possible.
